30 days without registration
Citizens of Uzbekistan may stay in Kazakhstan without temporary registration for 30 days instead of five: a protocol to the 2000 mutual travel agreement, its ratification law signed on 6 April 2024.

Uzbekistan is not in the EAEU: there is no free hiring as for citizens of Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. The employer obtains a permit to engage foreign labour within the quota; the simplified 2026 procedure covers investors and shortage professions such as IT, medicine and engineering.

A domestic worker for a private household obtains a labour immigrant permit: from 1 to 12 months, with income tax prepaid, within the quota. The application is filed together with the employer via egov.kz or migration.enbek.kz, and the permit must be collected within 10 days of signing the letter of intent.
