How we count

9 rules

ads and staffWe calculate advertised pay and staff-reported pay separately. Both tell you something different about an employer.

medianThe median is the middle value when salaries are put in order. A single unusually high figure affects it less than the mean. We use open ads with monthly pay, convert each amount at the Central Bank of Uzbekistan exchange rate for the date shown, and take only sums from 1 to 100 million soum a month.

pay rangesWhen an ad gives a range, we use its midpoint: “4 to 6 million” counts as 5 million. When the top is more than five times the bottom, we use the bottom: a range like that usually means a base salary plus commission. In the ad line the amount stays exactly as the employer wrote it.

five ads or moreWe label a figure as a median only when we have at least five ads. With fewer ads, we show the individual figures. Pay at least three times the occupation median is flagged and excluded from the calculation.

one vacancyWe count a vacancy once, however many times and in however many cities it is posted: same employer, same job title, same pay, same country of work. It also counts once in the median.

occupation scaleThe scale on an occupation page compares the amount you name with that occupation’s median in the place you chose. Below 0.7 of the median it reads “below market”, from 0.7 to 1.4 “market level”, from 1.4 to 3 times “above market”. From three times the median it says “offers like this are often bait”: from the same threshold an ad is flagged on the site and left out of the median. With fewer than five ads there is no median, and your amount is compared with the ads themselves.

namesWe merge an employer’s Uzbek Latin, Uzbek Cyrillic and Russian names into one registry page.

state registerA state-register search has four possible statuses: matched, similar records found, no match found, or checking. “Checking” means the record is in the queue. A source that does not respond is not evidence that a company does not exist.

game cardsScam cards in “Scam or real job” are based on real posts from job channels and name no one. Real vacancies come from channels and the Migration Agency portal, shortened, in the source’s own words, with phone numbers hidden. Before a real card is shown, its registry entry is checked again: if it has lost its licence or its state-register match, or gained a complaint or a shared number, the card drops out of the game.

A warning, not a verdict

We describe what we found and name the source: a missing licence, advance payment demands or a number shared by several employers. These are not findings of guilt.

What we keep and what we show

Delete my data

To submit a complaint or salary, verify your phone, email or Telegram account. We keep your contact details to prevent duplicate submissions and reply to you.

We publish a complaint’s date, category and text, or a salary’s job title, amount and pay period. Your name and contact details are hidden from readers and the organisation.

A moderator reviews submissions before publication. The organisation’s reply appears alongside the complaint. To have your personal data deleted, email contact@moyana.uz.

Google Analytics counts visits: page address, language, city and device. We do not pass your name, phone number or email to it.

Answers in “Scam or real job” are stored without your name or address: the card, the answer and a one-way tag that changes every day, so each answer counts once.
